Day 31

Today's topic was the Australian Outback, which is a hot desert where kangaroos, lizards, and dingoes dwell. The Outback is located in the middle of Australia. After our little lesson this morning, we split into two groups. Half worked on the craft project for the day while other half fed the parakeets, and then we switched. I even fed the parakeets today; so I got a close up shot.

The animal presenter brought the tiger salamander and the bearded dragon today. The bearded dragon actually comes from Australia, so it was perfect for this week. Then, we spent some time at Kids' Kingdom before lunch. After lunch, we split into two groups again. This time half visited the wallabies that are currently in holding until the new Australia exhibit is finished while the other half worked on their activity books for the day.

So, we have another set of twins this week - Claire and Hailey.

We also have a brother and sister - Ashton and Keely.

Ashton kept smirking the other day when we were doing the animal hokey pokey I think, and then today he's smirking at me again and laughing. "What, Ashton?" haha So, then he kept trying to hide from me, and we'd chase each other when we went to the playground, which was fun. Most of the kids are pretty great this week, I feel like I'm getting to know more of them than I did last week.

This afternoon, we played some games inside, played some games outside, went to the Dino maze again, and visited the penguins and prairie dogs.

We also stopped by Pete, the Pachyderm today, and there were some older kids trying to figure out how I knew how to make it go. There's a motion sensor, you don't have to hit it like a lot of people do; hence, the fence that has been knocked over. Anyways, at one point a kid asked me, How'd you know that? Do you work here?" Yes, I sure do :-)
