Anyways, this morning we discussed wings and feathers, and fed the parakeets. We also made a stop by the penguins this morning. Can anyone say "perfect timing"? The penguins were really active. One was swimming really fast, and I mean really fast. I had no idea they could go so fast. Little torpedo. I took a video of him, so you can see him zooming around... that is if you can keep up :-) You can hear how excited the kids were about it, as well.
The animal presenter brought the eastern screech owl and the bearded dragon, and then we toured through the Discovery Center. Here's my group from that tour. Remember, we always split into smaller groups. I had Eli, Ralston, Caleb, Avery, Neva, Sarah, and Hayden. :-)
We also did some animal exercises and my famous animal hokey pokey before lunch. The kids love the booty part. haha Then, we made bird masks after lunch. First is a photo of mine, and then Claire with hers.
This afternoon, we played some games and went through Australia because Oliver hadn't been through there yet. I think he enjoyed. Kept asking when we were going to see the cassowary. Miss Averee is not too fond of the cassowary. haha Here's Oliver by the kangaroo cut out. He couldn't believe that a wallaby can jump 25 feet and can jump 6 feet high.
So no random story about my friend's radio show tonight. The Internet was down at the Luhr household, so I missed the online streaming. I actually stopped at a Starbucks to use the Internet to get this post up tonight. I didn't want to miss a day. haha.
